Teddy Repair
Teddy Repair was a program designed to educate parents that 80% of their children’s stuffed animals are covered in harmful bacteria, and that Lysol’s laundry sanitizer could help.
We designed a custom Teddy Repair vehicle to pick up stuffed animals from children participating in the program. We tagged each stuffed animal with wearable technology that we had designed and fabricated. Tracking the bears was made possible by partnering with a renowned industrial designer, who created silicone bracelets embedded with NFC tracking chips.
We then transported the stuffed animals to a repair factory that we built, where we hired a team of seamstresses to fix and clean the stuffed animals using Lysol’s laundry sanitizer.
Since we anticipated that the children would miss their stuffed animals, we provided updates on their toys' journey while they were at the Lysol Teddy Repair factory.
After each of the five steps in the Teddy Repair process, the bear’s bracelet would be scanned at a photo station. All of its information would then be used to generate a customized text, sent to parents’ phones, alongside a photo of the bear.
Once the stuffed animal was finished, it was shipped back to the children in bespoke, high-end return boxes. Stuffed animals were also collected via mail from hundreds of parents who sent them to us for the Lysol Teddy Repair treatment.
